Mush vs Potter

info_icon

Comparisons between Mush's book and Harry Potter aren't just hype. The Hindi publisher who bought 'Indian' language rights to Potter paid about a lakh, whereas Musharraf's Hindi publisher, Rave Media, paid double that. But they're not complaining: with Musharraf now headed Londonward for a book launch, and TV channels here queuing up for a soundbite, his Hindi publisher is all set to roll out the first 5,000 copies within a week. And so what if the author isn't around: his Hindi publisher is expecting to cash in on the corrections Mush's made specially to the Hindi edition.

So Said Simon
If you think Musharraf's book is too costly, blame Pakistan. Simon & Schuster refused to bring down its price in India because Pakistani publishers had ordered nearly double the copies Indian ones did at that price. They didn't want cross-border price war.
