For example, with live telecasts of proceedings in Parliament, what is the logic in retaining curbs on media coverage of particular events or incidents in the House which eventually get expunged from the records? And surely rules on ‘Violation of parliamentary privileges’ need to be re-examined when MPs are caught on camera accepting bribes! Similarly, with regard to the judiciary and the freedom of the press, why is it that no questions are to be raised about judges’ personal conduct when it can impact their ability to render justice?
