That Gut Feeling

Fun to read, even if its people are like astrologers: remembering only what they got right, and forgetting those misses.

Blink

The best way to refine the ability to take decisions within seconds comes from knowledge, experience, and sheer hard work. A close-in catcher takes exceptional blinders in cricket. Is he thinking? No. Does he have a certain ability that others don’t? Yes. But is this unique? Not really. Because it’s based on practice—doing the same thing again and again. So, when that opportunity arises where you react with your instincts, it helps you do better than others. Still, it’s fun to read Blink because it’s written well. Even if Gladwell’s people are like astrologers: remembering only what they got right, and forgetting those misses.
