The Indian equity benchmarks surged on Economic Survey projections a day ahead of presentation of Union Budget by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on hopes of bold economic reform announcements and tax cuts. The Sensex surged 814 points to close at 58,014 and Nifty 50 index advanced 238 points to close at 17,340.
Buying was visible across sectors as all the 15 sector gauges compiled by the NSE ended higher.
