The Election Commission on Sunday announced that the Bharatiya Janata Party had a landslide victory in Arunachal Pradesh for the third consecutive term, securing a majority by winning 46 out of the 60 assembly seats.

The National People’s Party secured five seats, followed by the People’s Party of Arunachal with two, and the NCP with three.

The Congress secured only one seat, while Independent candidates emerged victorious in three constituencies.

Votes were counted for 50 assembly segments for which elections were held in the northeastern state along with Lok Sabha polls on April 19. The rest 10 seats were won by the saffron party uncontested.
