Amid the severely intensifying war situation in middle-east's riotous Israel and Gaza Strip, it has been reported that Qatari mediators have held urgent calls with Hamas. As per media reports, the calls were made in a bid to negotiate freedom for Israeli women and children seized by the Hamas and held in Gaza in exchange for the release of 36 Palestinian women and children from Israel's prisons.

According to the report, the ongoing negotiations by mediators from Qatar has been conducted in collaboration with the United States since Saturday night.

Not much details are divulged yet regarding the negotiations focusing on the release of 36 Palestinians from Israeli jails. Moreover, the exact number of Israeli hostages held in Gaza also remains unclear.

According to a Palestinian official, Qatar and Egypt have established contact with the outfit but the intensity of the fighting cast shadows over any potential breakthrough.

The source who sopke on condition of anonymity asseted, "There has been no agreement on logistics or a mechanism for the release."

There was no immediate response to requests for comment sent to Qatar's foreign ministry, Hamas or the US State Department. Israel's prime minister's office said it did not wish to comment.
