Protests and counter-protests have been held over a bill exempting Ultra-Orthodox Jews from mandatory military service. Mothers wore Israel Defense Forces (IDF) unit berets during a protest against the bill. Counter-protests were also held by Ultra-Orthodox community members in support of the bill. Protests against the proposed judicial overhaul also continue in Israel.
