Pakistan: 10 Cops Killed, 6 Injured In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Terrorist Attack

At least 10 policemen were killed while six others injured after terrorists attacked police station in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, local media reported on Monday.

The attack took place with the country slated to for general elections on February 8.

According to Geo News, the attack took place late-night on a police station in the Dera Ismail Khan district.

The report said the terrorists attacked the police station with heavy weapons at 3am in Tehsil Daraban of the district. It added the injured policemen have been shifted to a local hospital.

It added the terrorists attacked the police station “from all sides with grenades and heavy gunfire”.

The report said while the police also retaliated, however the terrorists were able to escape in the darkness of the night. The forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to hunt down the fleeing terrorists. Besides, it said the additional reinforcements have been rushed to the area.

The funeral prayers of slain policemen will be offered in the police line, it said.
