The month of August is going to be a treat to the eyes of all the stargazers and celestial events lovers as they will witness two rare Moons in the night sky. The Sky will not only be graced with two Moons but a rare Blue Moon too.

The celestial event, which can also be called the lunar spectacle began on August 01, 2023, when the Sky was lit-up with a rare full Super Moon which will peak at 2.32 pm EDT on August 2 as per the information shared by NASA. The celestial event will continue for up to two days. Additionally, the Moon that will illuminate the night Sky on Tuesday will be a supermoon since it will be a full moon with an orbit that is 222,159 miles closer to Earth than usual.

A supermoon is distinguished from a regular full moon by being bigger and appearing notably brighter in the night sky, according to NASA. Another celestial treat will take place on August 30, 2023, when a rare Blue Moon which is also going to be a full Moon will appear in the Sky above the Earth’s horizon at 222,043 miles away.

According to NASA's report, there are two kinds of Blue Moon which occur monthly and seasonally. In a calendar month, the monthly Blue Moon is known as the second full Moon with two full Moon, whereas the seasonal Blue Moon is the third full Moon of the particular astronomical season and consists of four full Moon.

The last time when the world witnessed a major celestial event like this was in 2018, and it is expected that a celestial event like this will not take place till 2037.
