Miley Cyrus has recently released her latest single, "Used to Be Young," accompanied by a heartfelt music video. The video shows Cyrus sporting a Mickey Mouse T-shirt which is seen as a  subtle nod to her early years as a beloved Disney star on "Hannah Montana." The emotional ballad focuses on her journey capturing the essence of youthful recklessness and the complexities of life.

As the chorus echoes,
"I know I used to be crazy
I know I used to be fun
You say I used to be wild
I say I used to be young,"
In the sentimental track, Cyrus pours her heart into the lyrics while shedding tears in the video. The song also takes the audience into the past, touching on unerasable marks like tattoos and regrets, while acknowledging the power of words that linger.

Cyrus revealed that the song's origin was rooted in feelings of being misunderstood. Written two years ago, the track captures her perspective during that phase. The track has been crafted meticulously during the  past 18 months. Mirroring her current phase of life—unfinished yet complete, Cyrus expressed her intention to let the song remain a work in progress.

While reflecting on the song's message in an Instagram post, Cyrus emphasized on its dual nature. She shared that the song encapsulates both optimism and sadness which subsequently illustrates  the coexistence of these emotions.
The release of "Used to Be Young" follows Cyrus' successful run on "Hannah Montana," where she portrayed a teenager living a double life as a renowned pop star.
