BLACKPINK members Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose were warmly welcomed at Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom on Tuesday. They attended the glittering banquet hosted by King Charles III, who welcomed South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife.

The event was part of a formal state visit where Charles paid tribute to South Korea’s political and economic advances and celebrated its culture.

During the event, he expressed his admiration for the youth in Korea and praised Blackpink for their global efforts in promoting the message of environmental sustainability.

He remarked, "I applaud Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose, better known collectively as Blackpink, for their role in bringing the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience. I can only admire how they can prioritize these vital issues, as well as being global superstars."

In a light-hearted moment, Charles joked about his past visit to Seoul, saying, "Sadly, when I was in Seoul all those years ago, I am not sure I developed much of what might be called the Gangnam Style!" in reference to the global hit song by Korean rapper Psy.

Acknowledging the cultural exchange between the United Kingdom and Korea, he mentioned the pairings of Danny Boyle with Bong Joon-ho, James Bond with Squid Game, and the Beatles' Let It Be with BTS's Dynamite.

He further highlighted the shared ability of both cultures to captivate imaginations worldwide, transforming what is commonly referred to as soft power into a shared superpower.
