Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion set the stage on fire with the performance of their new single, ‘Bongos’ which was released on September 8, at the 2023 VMAs performance of their new single,  This is their second collaboration, the first being the super hit ‘WAP’ released in 2020. Cardi took an entry by hanging onto a pole atop a large glowing ball. When she stepped on the stage, she was accompanied by shirtless men bongo players, and background dancers hopping in neon green and blue two - piece bathing suits joined her on the stage. Following that, she performed from the top of a small staircase with columns, much like the background in the videotape, resembling her performance in the official video.

After her part, Megan also appeared on another part of the stage, framed by wind trees, when her part of the song began. The two reunited on a walkway back to the main stage, stopping to twerk as they moved.   Both were dressed in color coordinated ‘blue’ outfits, giving major twinning goals.
