America's one of the most famous and beloved singers, Taylor Swift, has been making headlines for months now. Whether it's The Eras tour or a recent re-recorded album release, Swift always remains in the spotlight. But, the Belgian Swifties are over the moon as they will not only listen to their favorite singer but also get to study Taylor Swift. According to details, Ghent university in Belgium has now launched a Taylor Swift literature course.
What is Taylor Swift's literature course?
The course, which is called ' ‘Literature: Taylor’s Version’, is due to start in the autumn. The course is elective in nature, and the main objective behind launching this course is to emphasize themes used by famous historical literary writers and their styles and techniques through the perspective of US pop superstars. After Stanford University, Ghent University in Belgium became the second university across the globe that is offering a course inspired by the singer.
Students enrolling for a Master's program will get a chance to choose this course. Furthermore, the course will be taught by British professor Elly McCausland. As per Elly, the course will help students understand how much fun historical English literature can be. The professor also added that it is extremely important for students to study modern female stars.
It is no hidden fact that Swift has always drawn inspiration from classic literature for her songs. Hence, the course will help students connect the dots between classic literature and how US pop superstars portray them in their songs. Earlier this year, Stanford University offered a new course which goes by the name 'The Last Great American Songwriter: Storytelling With Taylor Swift Through the Eras.' However, even before Stanford University, New York University's Clive Davis Institute in 2022 introduced the first-ever course on the songwriter, making Taylor the first to enter the classroom.
