Taylor Swift seemed to nod and wink at the drama surrounding Scooter Braun on Thursday, August 24, when the second part of her Eras Tour started in Mexico City.
Swift's previous five albums, from Reputation to Midnights, all feature songs that are widely assumed to be about her ongoing feud with the music executive. As Scooter has been dominating headlines past week as he appears to be losing clients, including Demi Lovato, left, right, and center, Taylor reportedly chose a song that revealed her feelings about the situation: 'I Forgot That You Existed.'
Fan videos from the event, her first in Mexico, showed her taking the stage in a blue dress and performing the opener track of her 2019 album Lover acoustically, followed by 'Sweet Nothing,' a song she composed with her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
What songs by Taylor Swift are about Scooter Braun?
'I Forgot You Existed'
This song was the lead single off her 2019 album Lover, her first after leaving Big Machine Records. Many find parallels to Scooter, Justin, and Kanye in this song, which is about moving on from old grudges.
In the second line, she sings of people "laughing" as her reputation falls, maybe referring to Justin's FaceTime session with fans, for which he later apologized. (The image is still available online, but the caption has been removed.
Reportedly, Taylor disappeared from public view in 2016 after Kanye published an illegally taped discussion between them that claimed to show Taylor approving certain words of Kanye's song 'Famous,' which was released when Scooter was his manager.
However, context is important, and Taylor was eventually proven right when it was found that she had never given him permission to call her a pejorative epithet or claim credit for her fame.
“I Did Something Bad”
Many people think that the song "I Did Something Bad," which is on the album "Reputation," is about Scooter, Kanye, and Kim. This famous song from the album released in 2017 hasn't been played yet on the Eras Tour, but it could happen this weekend.
As the singer is a master of winks and nods, her other surprise songs like Long Story Short, Peace, Mad Woman, Maroon, are among the songs on the Eras Tour which her fans  speculate would be played as a nod to her fight with Scooter Braun.
