Gareth Edwards' sci-fi epic The Creator was finally released for the first audience during a special press screening held in Hollywood on Monday. As soon as the movie was unveiled to the audience, the initial reactions started to pour in. Critics rave over the highly anticipated AI film, calling it a groundbreaking reimagining of the genre.

The Creator stars John David Washington as humanity's last hope after AI detonates a nuclear warhead in Los Angeles. The trailer of the film was released in the summer. Ever since the trailer was released, various speculations related to the movie and its plot surfaced online.

The movie is helmed by Rogue One's Gareth Edwards, and he focuses on shifting perceptions about AI. As per the director of the movie, the film's plot revolves around two perceptions of AI. While half of the world is against AI, the other half is in its favor. The film explores this East-versus-West conflict.

How did AI change perceptions?

When Edwards shared the screenplay for The Creator, everyone asked why humans would be against AI. This was such a common question that he edited the story to give humans a solid reason to hate AI. However, attitudes towards AI have changed dramatically in the past year, as AI has become more prevalent.

While many movies have shown the villain side of an AI, the creator mainly focuses on an understanding of AI. The movie explores the notion that AI is a sentient being with its own thoughts and feelings, rather than just a tool. This may alter people's perceptions of AI and cause them to reconsider them.

Meanwhile, '  will be released on September 29, 2023. Earlier, the movie was scheduled to hit the big screens on October 06.
