Well, with Katrina, I was wrong. It's impossible to exaggerate just how hard that storm hit New Orleans, Louisiana and neighbouring Mississippi. Katrina blasted the southern United States like a tsunami mixed with an atomic bomb. Add wind to the waves of last year's water-borne disaster in Asia and you get Hurricane Katrina. It's quite simply the worst thing I've ever seen, ever reported upon, in many years of covering the impact of nature's wrath on man's flimsy little constructs of life, community and family.
