As counting of votes polled for the May 10 Karnataka Assembly polls begins, JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy said that he does not trust the exit polls and will wait for the results to actually come out.

"Don't trust exit polls. We will wait and see what happens when the results actually come out," he said just an hour before the counting of votes begins.

"We have already decided. I leave it to the people," he added hinting that he has already taken a call on what to do in case it gets to play kingmaker.

He further said, "The exit polls have given 30-32 seats to JD(S). I am a small party, there is no demand for me...I am hoping for a good development."

Kumaraswamy had earlier declared that JD(S) was open to a post-poll alliance with either the Congress or the ruling BJP.

A day before counting of votes polled in the Karnataka Assembly elections, both the ruling BJP and the Congress on Friday went into huddles and held strategy sessions on ways to keep the flock together. They also considered reaching out to independent candidates who are likely to win, as most exit polls predicted a tight contest between the two parties.
