Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that the Modi-led government initiatives have led to a 31% growth in girls' school enrolment since 2014-15.

He stated, "The enrolment growth rate for SC and ST students was 44% and 65%, respectively."

Tribal girl student enrolment has seen an 80% increase under the current government. Pradhan attributed these changes to the impact of the National Education Policy, resulting in a 25-26% rise in overall student enrolments.

India currently has 30 crore students, with 26 crore in classes 1 to 12 and four crore in higher education. Pradhan expressed confidence that the National Education Policy will contribute to making India a developed country by 2047.

According to Pradhan, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken out a circular that materials for teaching and learning 20 Indian civil languages be made available in schools.
