Accused Of Sexual Harassment, WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh To Address BJP's UP Rally

The wrestlers have been holding protest against WFI chief and BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for allegedly sexually harassing female wrestlers, including a minor.

Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha MP Brij Bhushan Singh will address a party rally in Katra area of Uttar Pradesh’s Kaiserganj, his constituency, on June 11.

Singh will address rally at a time in his constituency when wrestlers are holding protest in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar against him. They have accused Singh of sexually harassing women wrestlers including a minor. 

“The rally is being organised under BJP’s Mahasampark Abhiyan for the 2024 elections,” mentioned a report in The Indian Express. 

Singh had previously announced the postponement of his June 5 Jan Chetna Maharally in Ayodhya. 

He had also said there were “serious directions of the Supreme Court”.

The report quoting Singh’s Facebook post said, “It was decided to hold a Sant Sammelan in Ayodhya on June 5 to consider the evil spreading across society. But now that police are investigating the allegations, and respecting the serious directions of the Supreme Court, the ‘Jan Chetna Maharally, June 5, Ayodhya Chalo’ programme has been postponed for a few days.”

He as per the report has claimed that “my political opponents and their parties have levelled false allegations against me”.
