In a major political development, all seven MLAs of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Nagaland have extended their unwavering support to Ajit Pawar, dealing a significant blow to his uncle Sharad Pawar and causing a rift within the party's ranks.
In an official statement released today, the seven NCP MLAs in Nagaland expressed their complete allegiance to Ajit Pawar, reinforcing their commitment to his leadership. Notably, this support also extends to all party workers based in the Nagaland NCP office, according to NDTV.
The move comes after Ajit Pawar's unexpected alliance with the Maharashtra Shiv Sena and BJP government last month. Alongside eight other NCP MLAs, Ajit Pawar decided to join forces with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, forming a new coalition that sparked controversy and division within the NCP, a party originally founded by Sharad Pawar.
