Andhra Pradesh: 3 dead, 2 Suffer Severe Burns After Explosion At Firecracker Godown In Tirupati

As per media reports, the deceased were identified as Edu Kondalu, Sankaraiah and Nagendra. Firefighters had rushed to the spot after receiving the information.

Three people were killed while two others suffered severe burn injuries after an exploison at a firecracker godown at Kovvakolli village in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district on Thursday.

According to police, five people were working at the firecracker godown at the time of the blast. Three of them died on the spot and two others injured were shifted to hospital. 

As per media report, the deceased were identified as Edu Kondalu, 40, Sankaraiah, 32 and Nagendra, 25, 

The injured were reportedly shifted to a hospital in Srikalahasti, from where they were referred to SVR government general hospital in Tirupati.

The reason begind the explosion is yet to be figured out. Fire tenders who had rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident had doused the flames in three hours.

However, the crackers reportedly continued to burst, which made it challenging for the fire brigade team to carry out rescue operations.
