Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today unleashed a scathing attack on the ruling BJP in the poll-bound Gujarat where he targeted the Modi government at the Centre asking how many Swiss account holders have been put in jail during its three-year rule.
Addressing a public meeting in Bharuch, Gandhi said, “Tell me one name whom Modi ji has put in jail,” reported ANI.
“Vijay Mallya is still at large, having fun in England,” he said, adding, “They have been in power for the last 3 years. How many Swiss account holders are in jail? Tell me.”
He also questioned BJP’s claim of ease of doing business in India.
“There is no ease of doing business in India. Demonetisation and GST has ruined (the economy),” he said.
“Farmers are crying in Gujarat. They have been suppressed,” he added.
“In Gujarat 90% of colleges are in the hands of big industrialists, poor cannot afford because of the high fees,” he said.
On Tata’s Nano project in Gujarat, he said, “Modi had given Rs. 33,000 crore bank loan for free to the company, for the least rate. Your land was taken. Rs. 33,000 crore could have been used to waive farmers’ debt. Do you seen Nano cars on the roads? Nowhere can you see. You can’t see it anywhere in India,” he said, as reported by ANI.
