Boy’s Murder: Two Top Officials Of Ryan International School Arrested, Sadar Police Station SHO Suspended

Two top officials of the Ryan International School in Gurgaon were arrested last night over the murder of a seven-year-old student and the SHO of the Sadar Police Station has been suspended for negligence in maintainging law and order following the incident, reported ANI.

Acting principal Neerja Batra has been detained and is being questioned. She is likely to be arrested soon.

According to ANI, Ryan International Group's northern zone head Francis Thomas and branch (Bhondsi) coordinator arrested last night over the death of the boy, Pradyuman.

Meanwhile, Arun, SHO Sadar Police Station, Sohna Road was suspended with immediate effect last night for negligence in maintaining law and order following the incident.

Gurugram Police Commissioner has said that a speedy investigation has been underway into the case.

Fourteen police teams constituted to probe the case are questioning the school staff while an SIT team is headed to Mumbai to interrogate school CEO Ryan Pinto and director Albert Pinto .

Earlier, a bus conductor had been arrested and police claimed he had confessed to killing the boy after a failed sexual assault attempt.

A class 2 student, Pradyuman was allegedly murdered by a school bus conductor inside a toilet of the school. His body was found on Friday in a mutilated condition, with his throat slashed.

A protest against the murder in Gurgaon turned violent on Sunday, forcing the police to resort lathicharge.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had termed as "unfortunate" the baton charging outside the school in Gurgaon in which some mediapersons covering the protest were also injured and had ordered action against the erring policemen.

Hundreds of angry parents staged a protest demanding a CBI probe into the murder alleging a cover-up in the case.

Meanwhile, a fact-finding sub inquiry committee has highlighted deficiencies in the installation of CCTV cameras at the school, lack of separate toilets for drivers and conductors, unsafe toilets, broken boundary wall, lack of ramps, expired fire extinguishers and lack of police verification of employees.

The district administration has asked the school to ensure safety at its premises and gave 15 days’ time to reply to a show cause notice.

All Ryan group of schools in Gurgaon have been ordered to remain shut today and tomorrow on the directions of the district administration. Security has been stepped up at the school.

The state government has directed the Gurgaon Police to book the owner of Ryan International Albert Pinto under the Juvenile Justice (care and punishment act) Act.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has asserted that there will be no leniency and the school management will be held accountable.
