Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Singh is currently facing charges of sexual harassment from India's top wrestlers. He is also the Member of Parliament of the Bharatiya Janata Party from the Kaiserganj seat, he has reportedly assured that in the coming year, he will again run in the Lok Sabha elections.
According to the reports, Brij Bhushan Singh told the media about his preparation to run for the Kaiserganj constituency again with context to the Gonda rally of BJP for nine years of its governance in the centre.
Singh reportedly said, "BJP will win all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh and form the government once again at the Centre in 2024."
Reportedly, he joined the Gonda rally after a 25 km roadshow which is said to be his virtual show of power and strength despite the charges of sexual harassment against him by the wrestlers. He reportedly did not speak about the ongoing investigation except for a few lines in his speech.
Brij Bhushan Singh has been an MP from Kaiserganj for the last six terms and once in 2009, he switched to Samajwadi Party but then went back to be a part of BJP again and is still there.
Brij Bhushan Singh was the convener of this rally while Madhya Pradesh higher education minister Mohan Yadav was the chief guest. During the rally Singh spoke about the contributions of BJP over the last nine years in India.
Reportedly, Brij Bhushan Singh had appealed to all former and current BJP Members of the Legislative Assembly to join the rally along with his supporters, party workers and office bearers of the party. Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary was reportedly present to review the preparations.
The support from the party this time around was quite different from what he received last time during the Ayodhya rally that Brij Bhushan Singh had announced. Several BJP leaders did not want to attend it and he later cancelled the rally as the case of sexual harassment was being heard by the Supreme Court.
