In an unsettling incident at a private school in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a Class 4 student reportedly endured an astonishing 108 attacks with a geometry compass during a brawl with three of his classmates on November 24. The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has swiftly responded to the incident, urging the police to provide a thorough investigation report, as reported by PTI.
Expressing her shock over the incident, CWC chairperson Pallavi Porwal stated that the committee is keen on understanding the motives behind such violent behavior among children of such a young age. In addition to the investigation, the CWC plans to offer counseling to the involved children and their families. Porwal also mentioned the possibility of examining whether the children are exposed to video games containing violent scenes.
The father of the victim revealed that his son sustained puncture wounds during the attack, which occurred around 2 pm at the school. Despite receiving first aid at a hospital, the boy's father expressed frustration over the school management's reluctance to provide CCTV footage of the classroom, leaving the motive behind the assault unclear.
A formal complaint has been filed at the Aerodrome police station, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Vivek Singh Chauhan confirmed that a medical examination was conducted on the victim after the complaint was lodged. Notably, all children involved in the incident are below 10 years of age, and legal actions are being pursued accordingly.
