According to sources, the government has established a committee led by former President Ram Nath Kovind to investigate the feasibility of implementing the concept of 'one nation, one election'.

On Thursday, politicians, experts, and commentators got into debating when the government announced a special meeting of Parliament from September 18 to 22. People guessed that new laws could be introduced, like having the same rules for everyone across the country, making national and state elections happen at the same time, giving more seats to women in the government, or celebrating things like landing on the moon and leading the G20 group in the new Parliament building.

The government hasn't shared the plan for the session yet, but Pralhad Joshi, the minister in charge of parliamentary affairs, mentioned that there will be five meetings. An important official from the parliamentary affairs ministry mentioned that they will decide on the plan next week, and it might involve talking about an important topic and considering a few new laws, according to a report by Live Mint.

“September 17 is the birthday of the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) and every year he attempts to do something new. To my understating September 19 is Ganesh Chaturthi which considered the most auspicious in India and that entire Parliament machinery of both the Houses- Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha- could move to the new adjacent Parliament building and hence there should be no reading between  the lines,” informed a top Government source, as reported by The Pioneer.

JP Nadda, the national president of BJP, has reached the home of former President Ram Nath Kovind in Delhi.

A committee titled 'One Nation, One Election' has been established by the central government, with former President Ram Nath Kovind as its chairman.
