Renowned senior lawyer Harish Salve has tied the knot for the third time in a private ceremony in London. Salve, a former Solicitor General of India, exchanged vows with his bride, Trina, surrounded by close friends. This marks Salve's third marriage, following his divorce from his first wife in 2020 and subsequent marriage to Caroline Brossard.
The wedding ceremony saw a mix of high-profile guests, including industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani, as well as former IPL chairman and fugitive businessman Lalit Modi, accompanied by his girlfriend and model Ujjwala Rawat. Other prominent figures from the business world, such as Gopi Hinduja, SP Lohia, Sunil Mittal, and LN Mittal, also graced the event with their presence.
However, Lalit Modi's attendance at the wedding has stirred political controversy. Some have raised questions about his presence, especially considering Salve's involvement in the high-level committee on 'One Nation, One Election.' This committee, chaired by a former President, has caught the attention of critics due to Lalit Modi's status as a fugitive wanted by Indian agencies on charges of corruption and money laundering.
Gen Secy of Maharashtra Congress Pritesh Shah tweeted: "Rahul Gandhi was disqualified for calling Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi thief and Harish Salve defend it. Recently Modi govt formed a high-level committee on 'One Nation, One Election.' Harish Salve, who is enjoying with fugitive Lalit Modi, is part of that committee."
Journalist Maneesh Chhibber tweeted: "When fugitive businessman Lalit Modi attends the third marriage of senior lawyer Harish Salve, who is also a member of the #OneNationOnePoll panel headed by ex-President Kovind, questions are bound to be raised. Modi is wanted by Indian agencies on charges like corruption & money laundering."
SM Coordinator @INCOverseas Vijay Thottathil tweeted: "Modi Ji’s One Nation One Election committee member Harish Salve having a gala time with two frauds, Lalit Modi & Moin Qureshi!! Bhakths only know one fraud, that is Mr. George Soros."
In an unexpected reaction, eccentric actor KRK (Kamaal R Khan) said, "Lalit Modi is a wanted criminal in India. Top lawyer of India #HarishSalve is enjoying a party with him. This is the proof of how criminals are looting India and enjoying life without fear."
Lalit Modi, known for founding the Indian Premier League and serving as a former Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), remains a controversial figure with a long-standing legal battle in India.
