A policeman in Tamil Nadu killed a man, who allegedly posed as a woman on Facebook and attempted to con the cop out of money by wooing him.
Kanan Kumar, the 32-year-old policeman killed the 22-year-old man, S Ayyanar, with the help of 3 others in Vathirayiruppu (Watrap). The cop posted at the Ennore police station had initially believed that the Ayyanar was a woman who has fallen in love with him, reported The Times of India.
Ayyanar had created a fake profile on Facebook, where he started an online relationship with Kumar posing as a woman. "They even voice-chatted... Ayyanar disguised his voice... the constable soon came to believe he was in love with this person," an investigation officer said to the newspaper.
But things took an ugly turn after Kumar came to know about the victim's real identity.
After interrogation, it was revealed that Kumar and his accomplices had kidnapped Ayyannar and eventually killed him.
