In a tragic incident on Monday, a deadly gun battle erupted between two militant groups in Manipur's Tengnoupal district, resulting in the loss of at least 13 lives, according to official sources. The clash unfolded at Leithu village in the afternoon, as a group of militants, en route to Myanmar, was ambushed by another insurgent faction that holds dominance in the area, as reported by PTI.

An official from the hill district provided details, stating that security forces swiftly reached the spot and have confirmed the discovery of 13 bodies. However, the identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained, although preliminary findings suggest that they may not be local residents.

Tengnoupal district, sharing a porous border with Myanmar, has been witness to heightened tensions and incidents involving militant activities.
