After showing marginal improvement in the overall air quality on Tuesday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi slipped back to the 'severe' category on Wednesday again.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the city's overall air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 421 at 7 am.
AQI in 'Severe' Zone
As per media reports, almost all the stations except a few such as Lodi Road, JLN Stadium, Siri Fort, Aurobindo Marg and Dilshad Garden recorded an AQI in the "Severe" category.
According to official data, several air monitoring stations, including Anand Vihar, Dwarka, Shadipur, Mandir Marg, ITO, R K Puram, Punjabi Bagh, North Campus, Mathura Road, Rohini, Patparganj, Okhla, India Gate, Mundka recorded and AQI above 400 at 6 am.
AQI in Anand Vihar was recorded at 452, in RK Puram at 433, in Punjabi Bagh at 460 and in ITO at 413.
Greater Noida 'Most Polluted'
Greater Noida has been reported as the 'most polluted' with an AQI of 474, whereas Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad recorded air quality in the 'very poor' category at 6 am.
Yesterday, at 10 pm, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi’s Anand Vihar touched a massive 999, to be in the 'hazardous' category, even before Diwali.
