Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the first phase of the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS), which is country's first regional railway network. The first phase runs from Delhi to Ghaziabad. Once the entire network is completed, the travel time between Delhi and Meerut would be reduced to under an hour from around two hours currently.
