Delhi, Rajasthan Police Jointly Arrested 3 Accused In Karni Sena Chief's Murder

The two identified assailants, Rohit Rathore from Jaipur and Nitin Fauji from Haryana's Mahendragarh were captured in a joint operation conducted in Chandigarh's Sector 22.

In a major breakthrough, the Delhi Police Crime Branch, in collaboration with the Rajasthan Police, has successfully arrested three individuals, including two alleged shooters, in connection with the shocking murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. The incident, which occurred on December 5, saw Gogamedi fatally shot in the living room of his Jaipur residence.

Gogamedi fell victim to a fatal shooting in the confines of his Jaipur residence on December 5. Recent CCTV footage purportedly captured the assailants opening fire on Gogamedi, shedding light on the chilling events leading to his demise.

How did the police nab the accused?

The alleged killers, identified as Rohit Rathore from Jaipur and Nitin Fauji from Haryana's Mahendragarh, had a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh announced for their apprehension. In a coordinated effort, a team from the Delhi Police's Crime Branch, working jointly with the Rajasthan Police, successfully arrested the duo in Chandigarh's Sector 22. Accompanying them was an associate, Udham Singh, who was also taken into custody.

A Delhi Police officer confirmed that the accused would be transferred to the Jaipur Police for further interrogation. Additional Director General of Rajasthan Police (Crime) Dinesh MN revealed that Fauji and Rathore had been in hiding in Chandigarh and were apprehended by the 11-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Rajasthan Director General of Police and the Delhi Police.

Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph stated that the formal arrest of the accused in the murder case would take place upon their arrival in Jaipur. Notably, on Saturday, another individual was arrested in Jaipur for allegedly contracting the shooters responsible for Gogamedi's killing.

According to reports, Ramveer Jat, identified as one of the conspirators in the murder, facilitated the groundwork for his friend Fauji in Jaipur ahead of the fatal incident. The accused gained access to Gogamedi's home under the guise of a meeting and, after a brief conversation, opened fire. Their actions resulted in the tragic death of their accomplice Naveen Shekhawat, who had provided them access to Gogamedi's residence.

Gangster Rohit Godara, affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the murder, citing Gogamedi's alleged support for his adversaries as the motive behind the heinous act. The investigation into this shocking incident continues to unfold, revealing more details about the complex web of events surrounding Gogamedi's untimely demise.
