A robber was seen attempting to strangle a woman before fleeing with her belongings in Delhi's Uttam Nagar area. The incident, said to be of around 6:30 am on January 6, was caught on CCTV, showing the woman going unconscious after getting choked and then getting up suddenly after the robber flees.
CCTV visuals show the woman walking down a colony when a man grabs her from behind and chokes her with his arm.
The man grabs her neck and puts her in a chokehold, following which the woman struggles to free herself from him before going motionless.

The robber then lays her down on the street and walks away with her mobile phone and bag. As soon as the robber exits the scene, the woman gets up and runs away from there.
From the video, it appears that the woman pretended to faint to stop the robber from further causing harm to her.
Police said the accused, who is part of a gang that is robbing people by strangling them, was arrested on the same day and the woman's purse and mobile phone have been recovered, an NDTV report mentioned.
A team was formed to nab the accused following a complaint by the woman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Harsha Vardhan said, adding that several CCTV footage in the area were analysed.
The police said the accused has been identified as 38-year-old Shiv Kumar, a resident of the Chanakyapuri area in Delhi.
"The accused was found previously involved in six criminal cases," the DCP said.
