In a tragic incident, one village volunteer lost their life while two others sustained injuries in a gunfight between two armed groups in Manipur's Kangpokpi district on Saturday morning, as reported by the police.
The conflict erupted when armed individuals infiltrated the hill village of Satang Kuki, initiating a gun and bomb attack. The skirmish ceased as the assailants withdrew upon the arrival of additional backup forces at Satang village.
The injured individuals have been swiftly transported to a private hospital in Imphal. According to hospital sources, one person suffered splinter injuries on the face, while the other sustained injuries on the thigh.
