In a horrific incident that has sent shockwaves through the region, a man allegedly killed his 18-year-old daughter and her 21-year-old lover in a suspected case of honor killing. The bodies of Shivani Tomar and Radheshyam Tomar were reportedly dumped into the treacherous Chambal river, known to be infested with crocodiles. The incident took place in Ratanbasai village in Morena district, according to media reports.
The gruesome killings came to light when Radheshyam's father filed a complaint with the police, expressing concerns about his missing son and the woman. Initially, the police considered the possibility of them eloping, but no one in the village reported seeing the couple leaving.
Authorities, including the police in the Ambah area of Morena district and a state disaster emergency response force (SDERF) team, are now conducting a search operation in the Chambal river to locate the bodies, as reported by The New Indian Express. So far, the bodies have not been found.
Sub-divisional officer police (SDOP) Parmal Singh Mehra stated that Rajpal Singh Tomar, the father of Shivani, had lodged a missing complaint on June 3 at the Ambah police station. The next day, Radheshyam's family also filed a similar complaint at the same police station, indicating their suspicions of foul play, according to The New Indian Express.
Following an intensive investigation and interrogation of both families, the SDOP revealed, "The girl's father Rajpal Singh Tomar confessed to murdering Shivani and Radheshyam after catching them together. Subsequently, both bodies were dumped in the Chambal river."
According to Radheshyam's family, the couple had eloped last month and were later discovered in neighboring Uttar Pradesh. On June 1, Shivani's father allegedly contacted Radheshyam's family and issued a warning, urging them to persuade their son to change his behavior and relocate elsewhere.
