Gangster Atiq Ahmad’s Killers Shifted To Another Jail After Over Security Reasons

The killers of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf have been shifted to another jail in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the report in NDTV, the trio have been shifted to another jail due to security reasons.

The three men Sunny Singh, Arun Maurya, Lovelesh Towari carried out an audacious attack on Ahmad and his brother Ashraf amid hordes of policemen and media glare while they were being taken for a medical checkup in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj hospital on Saturday.

The trio report said have been moved to Pratapgarh jail from the earlier Naini jail.

The report said that there were intelligence inputs that the three men could been attacked inside the jail.

“The three men, who cops say wanted to make a name for themselves by eliminating Ahmed's gang, have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days after they were produced in court over the weekend,” the report said.

Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a three-member judicial inquiry committee who would  a report on the killings within two months.

The trio had posed as journalists and shouted ‘Hail Lord Ram’ slogans while firing upon Ahmad and his brother Ashraf.

The police had later recovered three fake media ID cards, a microphone and a camera from the shooters.
