The government has scheduled an all-party meeting on December 2, a day before the Winter session of Parliament commences on December 4 and concludes on December 22. The unusual advancement by a day is attributed to the vote counting for five states on December 3, coinciding with the meeting. The assembly election results are anticipated to significantly influence the upcoming session, during which the government aims to pass crucial bills, as reported by PTI.

One noteworthy agenda is the presentation of the Ethics Committee's report on the "cash-for-query" accusations against TMC MP Mahua Moitra in the Lok Sabha. The House must adopt the report before any expulsion recommended by the committee takes effect.

Additionally, the session is expected to address three significant bills that aim to replace the IPC, CrPC, and the Evidence Act. The standing committee on Home has recently endorsed these reports, setting the stage for their consideration.

Another prominent bill awaiting attention pertains to the appointment of the chief election commissioner and election commissioners. Although introduced in the Monsoon session, its passage was deferred in the special session amid opposition protests and objections from former chief election commissioners. The government's objective is to align the status of the CEC and ECs with that of the cabinet secretary, currently enjoying the same status as a Supreme Court judge.
