Gurugram Parts Reel Under Waterlogging After Rainfall As City's Traffic Gets Disrupted

Heavy rainfall led to waterlogging in parts of Gurugram, leading to traffic jams as the authorities failed to decongest roads.

Daily commuters had to face major difficulty as their vehicles were submerged at severely waterlogged stretches of road in the city.

The pedestrian crossing path at places has also got waterlogged, videos on social media showed.

The videos on social media showed waterlogging at some places of Gurugram and the traffic moving at a slow speed. 

The commuters were seen struggling to move on various routes including Delhi-Jaipur National Highway, Signature Tower Flyover and Hero Honda Chowk due to waterlogging.

The waterlogging caused problems near Mayfield Garden, Basai Chowk, AIT Chowk, Atlas Chowk, CRPF Chowk and Sector 10-A, the reports said.

Gurugram city witness massive waterlogging whenever incessant rain occurs leading to traffic jams, while commuters face difficulty in reaching to their destinations.

The local MeT department predicted a thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds over and adjoining areas of isolated places of Delhi and the maximum and minimum temperature is expected to hover around 39 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The maximum temperature in adjacent Delhi settled at 38.1 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature settled at 27 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had said.

Delhi received light showers while the IMD predicted mostly cloudy skies. The IMD had predicted mostly cloudy skies with the possibility of very light rain and drizzle in the national capital.
