In an untoward incident, a group of six men assaulted two women, and ran their car over one of the victims’ legs for rejecting their advances outside a private club in Sector 9, Panchkula, police said.
As per media reports, the woman who was run over by the car suffered fractures in both her legs while another woman sustained severe head injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Civil Hospital in Sector 6.
It has been reported that the incident happened when six men arrived in two cars outside the club and forcibly tried to take the women with them.
The attack came when the women protested. The accused attacked one of them with a sharp object, causing head injuries while the other woman was pushed to the ground. They then ran their car over the woman’s foot.
"A case has been registered based on the statements of both women," Jagdish Chand, in-charge of Sector 10 police post said, adding that all the accused will be arrested.
