The mob was reportedly shouting to "burn them alive", according to the FIR. A group of people then forcibly rammed a yellow bus into walls of the station. The rioters then entered the police station and opened fire at the police staff.

"ASI Digvijay from Sadar Tauru police station along with a colleague arrived in a government vehicle (Bolero) and came running inside the police station to save their lives, as stone pelting from troublemakers and rioters continued. Rioters drove a yellow bus and rammed it into walls and the main gate of the station. Some rioters climbed the walls and the roof… and using illegal arms, they opened fire directly at police staff,” the FIR stated, according to a report by Indian Express.

As the rioters continued to pelt stones, police officers resorted to retaliatory fire. “On my order, to disperse the raging mob, constable Pradeep Kumar fired teargas shells… When the rioters continued pelting stones… fellow police officers and I… in self defence and for protection… took arms from the police station armoury and fired in retaliation in the air,” the FIR read.

The mob also vandalised cars of policemen by pouring petrol over them. One government vehicle was also vandalised, the FIR said. “The rioters then barged into the police station room and looted 2 coolers, one inverter, a battery, a laptop, and ASI Suresh’s wallet… After that, a lot of police force arrived and the rioters abandoned the bus and ran away before threatening us,” the FIR added.

According to a report by NDTV, the attack at the police station raised suspicion that it might have been an attempt to destroy evidence in cases registered by the police recently on rampant cyber fraud in Nuh. The attackers also allegedly tried to burn documents inside the police station.

So far, the clashes have killed six people include two home guards, one Bajrang Dal activist and a naib imam was killed at a mosque in Gurugram.
