The scheduled hearing regarding the transfer of the basement in the Gyanvapi complex, known as 'Vyas ji ka tehkhana,' to the district magistrate has been postponed until Tuesday. Vijay Shankar Rastogi, who sought to be included as a party in the case, was slated to present his arguments on Monday, as reported by PTI.

However, the proceedings were delayed due to the unfortunate demise of an advocate, as confirmed by Madan Mohan Yadav, the counsel for the Hindu side.

District Judge AK Vishwesh has set November 21 for the continuation of the hearing. Yadav has asserted that the basement's key should be handed over to the district magistrate to prevent potential tampering with its contents. The court had initially reserved an order for November 18 after concluding the plea hearing on November 8. However, Rastogi's application prompted the court to instruct him to present his side, leading to the rescheduling of the hearing to November 20.

Yadav previously highlighted that authorities had secured and sealed the basement in 1993, referred to as 'Vyas ji ka tehkhana.' He claimed that before the lockdown, the basement was utilized for worship by Somnath Vyas, a priest, as stated in his plea.
