IMD Warns Of Heavy Rainfall In Uttarakhand And Himachal Pradesh, Disrupting Normal Life

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning predicting heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh for the next two days, exacerbating the ongoing downpour that has disrupted normal life and caused widespread devastation. The western coast is also expected to experience an increase in rainfall activity starting from July 17, while a decrease is anticipated over northeast India. The IMD further forecasts widespread rainfall in Himachal Pradesh for the next five days and similar conditions in Uttarakhand and East Uttar Pradesh for the next three days.

According to the IMD, active monsoon conditions will persist over central and adjoining East India for the next five days, with heavy rainfall expected in Jharkhand and Odisha within the next 24 hours. Additionally, heavy rainfall is anticipated in the eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh from July 16 to 18, in the western districts of Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra on July 16 and 18, and over Chhattisgarh from July 16 to 17.

Meanwhile, the western part of the country can expect light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall over the next five days. Goa and the ghat areas of central Maharashtra are likely to witness similar rainfall activity from July 18 to 20, while Gujarat can anticipate it on July 19 to 20.
