Devotees on Friday participated in Rath Yatra festival at Odisha's Puri for the first time since 2020. The Rath Yatra festival was held without devotees in 2020 and 2021 because of Covid-19 pandemic. Officials expect the number of devotees in Puri today would touch 10 lakh, according to PTI. In the festival, idols of Hindu God Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra are taken out in a grand procession in specially made chariots called —raths— that are pulled by thousands of devotees.
