Two CRPF personnel died and a third was critically wounded in a hit-and-run attack by militants in the Lawaypora area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Thursday afternoon.
Police said preliminary investigation revealed that the militants had fired indiscriminately upon a CRPF vehicle of the 73Bn at Lawaypora on outskirts of Srinagar on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway. The police said four CRPF personnel were hit by bullets in the attack. All four were immediately evacuated to hospital where sub-inspector Manga Ram Dev Barman and constable Ashok Kumar died of their injuries."
The police said the attack was planned and carried out by the militants affiliated with the proscribed LeT outfit.
