The Supreme Court on Thursday said that there is a "systematic game" to malign this institution while hearing the case of conspiracy to frame Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi on sexual harassment allegations.

The apex court was hearing claims made by an advocate that there was a larger conspiracy to frame Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogi on allegations of sexual harassment.

The top court expressed its concerns and said it is anguished with the way the institution is being treated, adding "we will not survive if this will happen".

The court said it will pass an order at 2 pm.

The apex court also questioned the rich and powerful people in the country who think they can remote control the Supreme Court adding they are playing with fire and this must stop.

A special bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra said that 4-5 per cent lawyers are bringing a bad name to this great institution of law.

"The way this institution is treated in last few years we must say that we will not survive if this will happen," a bench also comprising Justices R F Nariman and Deepak Gupta said.
