Earthquake tremors were felt in parts of Delhi , Lucknow and parts of north India region on Tuesday evening.
The news was tweeted by Skymet Weather agency.
The epicentre of the earthquake, which occurred at around 7:30 pm (local time), was located at a shallow depth of 14 kilometres, about 87 kilometres northwest of Dailekh district in Nepal, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.
The earthquake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage to the property as a result of the quake.
