Manoj Tiwari, the Delhi BJP chief, on Saturday rubbished exit poll results, which predicted a clean sweep for Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a poor show for the saffron party.

Taking to Twitter, Tiwari also asserted that the BJP will form government in Delhi with at least 48 seats.

"All these exit polls will fail," He said on Twitter, adding that, "Keep this tweet of mine saved.. BJP will form government in Delhi with 48 seats.. Kindly don't start finding faults with the EVM from now."

The Delhi throne is significant for the BJP as it sets its eyes on ending a 20-year drought since they had a CM in the national capital.

But exit polls predict that the AAP will retain power.

ABP C-voter exit poll has given the AAP 49-63 seats and the BJP 5-21. Another exit poll survey by NewsX shows AAP could win as many as 50-56 seats, followed by BJP with 10-14 seats.

According to Times Now, AAP could win 43 seats and BJP 26.

Delhi recorded a voter turnout of 57.06 per cent at 6 pm. The turnout figure is likely to rise as polling is still underway at some booths.

The polling was smooth and police maintained a strict vigil in sensitive areas.
