Days after the cross-LoC airstrikes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country was feeling the absence of Rafale and the results would have been different if India had the fighter jets. Congress chief Rahul Gandhi hit back, saying that PM Modi is "solely responsible for the delay in arrival of the Rafale jets".
Modi also attacked the Congress party for its persistent tirade against his government over the deal.
“India is feeling the absence of Rafale. The entire country is saying in one voice today, that if we had Rafale, the results would have been different. The country has suffered a lot due to selfish interests earlier and now politics over Rafale,” Prime Minister Modi said on Saturday at an event.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi has alleged corruption and favouritism by the Modi government in the Rafale deal. The government has denied the charges.

CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury tweeted that the delay in getting the Rafale was solely because PM Modi "got the new formula to help his crony".
