Unidentified militants fired upon National Conference block president, Mohammad Ismail Wani, in Bijbehara around 45 km south of Srinagar.
The NC says, Wani was at his village Bopatyar when he was fired upon and has been rushed to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital.
“My @JKNC_ colleague Mohd Ismail Wani, block President Bijbehara block in South Kashmir of has been shot & injured. He has been referred to Srinagar. Praying for his recovery,” Omar Abdullah, NC vice-president, tweeted.
