PM Modi, Trump Discuss Indo-China Border Issues, Covid-19, And US Protests Over Phone Call

Trump extended an invitation to PM Modi to attend the next G-7 Summit to be held in USA, the Prime Minister's Office said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke with US President Donald Trump over the telephone and discussed COVID-19 pandemic, Indo-China border issues and the protests in America over a black man's death in police custody among other topics.

Trump extended an invitation to PM Modi to attend the next G-7 Summit to be held in USA, the Prime Minister's Office said. Responding to his invitation, the PM said that India would be happy to work with the US and other countries to ensure the success of the proposed Summit.

The two leaders also discussed the need for reforms in the World Health Organisation.  

Further, PM Modi expressed concern regarding the ongoing civil disturbances in the US and conveyed his best wishes for an early resolution of the situation.

After the discussion the PM tweeted saying, "Had a warm and productive conversation with my friend President @realDonaldTrump. We discussed his plans for the US Presidency of G-7, the COVID-19 pandemic, and many other issues."
